U.S. Aetna Inc. (AET) have agreed to form Accountable Care Organizations (ACO)

Good news, the U.S. health insurance Aetna Inc. (AET) have agreed to form Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) with the New Haven Community Medical Group (: NHCMG). This condition is in line with the company's efforts to improve the safety and quality of patient care and to make health care more affordable. As we all know ACO is a collaboration of health care providers, who voluntarily form alliances to provide high-quality coordinated care to patients. An ACO is responsible for the quality, cost, and overall care offered to members. By focusing on the needs of patients and linking payments to outcomes, the model aims to improve the health of individuals and communities and curb rising health care costs.

The program eventually will serve 5800 plans are fully insured in the Greater New Haven area. The plan will also serve other fully insured Aetna members if they visit the doctor NHCMG will receive remuneration based on their ability to offer quality medical care at a lower price. In this case Aetna ACO aims to give more synchronized, personal experience for patients, health care outcomes lower co-pays and improve. Collaborative accountable care is one of the few ways in which President Obama is eager to improve the health of all Americans. It is seen as a tool that will provide seamless, high quality care to the population as a whole.

Health Care Reform (HCR) called for the setting to cut unnecessary costs due to lack of coordination between multiple physicians and other providers. Most Americans with multiple chronic conditions receive care from multiple doctors and have observed that some of them receive inadequate care. So that other health insurance such as UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH) and CIGNA Corp. (CI) are also aggressively forming ACOs. Going forward, we expect as a patient-centered collaboration to grow rapidly. Most of the affected population was found to be victims of medical errors and hospital readmissions facing discharge them within a few days. Thus, ACOs formed to reduce the exorbitant amounts spent due to lack of managed care.
